This year we'll be running three, separate Summer Directives for two weeks at a time. The Summer 2022 - Beach Head directive begins right when the update goes Live, and will be available through June 29.
The first weekend of each Summer Directive will yield Double Experience for ALL! Catch the wave this June 17, 18, and 19!
This summer you'll have access to a variety of water-fueled weaponry.
Equip the Soldier Soaker sidearm (available by default) as a secondary option and hose down your opponents.
Water Balloons are available in the grenade slot for 1 Certification Point.
The hard-hitting Mega Soldier Soaker will drench your enemies with rapid-fire splash damage, and is available for unlock for 1000 Certs. Additional faction-specific variants are available in the Depot for 499 DBC.
These weapons are available for use during the summer event only.
This Father's Day weekend, enjoy 40% off of Infantry Weapons! Available June 17, 18, and 19.
Break some waves with new amphibious vehicle cosmetics, and the Dive! vehicle horn, which plays different sounds above and below the water!
Mega Soldier Soakers, Heatwave Weapons, and various summer-themed equipment can be found once again under the Summer Depot banner.
Have you ever wanted to send a shiny new weapon or cosmetic to that friend you painstakingly coaxed into fighting a perpetual war on Auraxis with you? So have we!
As of this update, you now have the ability to send a Gift to anyone on your friends list by selecting the "Gift" button found on most items and bundles in the Depot.
The recipient of your gift can find the item(s) in their notification screen, alongside an optional note.
This is a long-requested community feature, and we're happy to finally be able to bring it to you all.
For a limited time, the Aerial Anomalies event returns to Auraxis!
Once per continent, an Aerial Anomaly event will kick off, spawning "anomalies" periodically around the map, and removing the nanite cost on aircraft.
Rush to collect the "Tempest" provided by these Anomalies, and return to your faction's buoy to deposit it!
Bastion Fleet Carriers also act as drop-off locations for this event, so be sure to use them to change the tides of battle.
The following changes were made in the last update, but missed from the patch notes. These adjustments make Biolabs more of a bulwark on the lattice, and the Esamir changes allow for more map maneuverability from the southwestern Warpgate.

With the network performance issues that have been plaguing Connery past us, and the G15 errors few and far between, we can start talking about some of the fun summer updates we've got planned with a little more confidence. The gifting system going Live with this update is kind of a big deal in terms of a technological addition, and has been a requested feature for about as long as I can remember. Hopefully the folks who are looking to make use of it are a little happier with the addition. To look at what's coming down the pipe, the new water vehicle is just on the horizon, and Outfit Wars in a 1v1 capacity is getting pretty near as well. We'll talk about some of this in the next dev article, and share some insight into where we're headed. To the folks affected by the server troubles the past few months (and everyone else who had to hear about it,) thank you for bearing with us.
