New Game Mode: Assault arrives on PTS
We are excited to introduce the Assault Game Mode, a new way to experience intense, strategic battles. This mode introduces a unique ticket system and sequential point capturing, bringing fresh challenges and tactical opportunities for both Attackers and Defenders.
Assault Facility Overview
The Assault Facility introduces a step-by-step capture system where Attackers must seize control points in a specific sequence to win the battle. Unlike traditional capture points, Defenders cannot recapture lost points—each victory moves the Attackers closer to victory. However, the attackers will need to manage their limited resources (tickets) carefully, as each respawn depletes their ticket pool.
*The Assault Facility is located at the Untapped Reservoir on Esamir.
- Attackers Win by capturing all points in the designated sequence.
- Defenders Win by draining the Attackers' ticket pool before they can reach the final point.
This facility is designed for intense, tactical gameplay, where every decision and every moment counts.
Key Features
- Initial Control: The Defenders start by controlling all capture points.
- Battle Initiation: The Attackers begin the battle by capturing the first capture point, locking the future points to the attacking faction for the remainder of the battle.
- Ticket Pool: The Attackers' ticket pool becomes active upon capturing the first point, and the pool can be depleted by spawning actions or losing control points to the Defenders.
- Win Conditions:
- Attackers win by capturing the final control point in sequence.
- Defenders win when the Attackers run out of tickets.
Capture Rules
- Sequential Capturing: Attackers must capture control points in a predefined sequence.
- Captured Points: Once a control point is captured, it cannot be recaptured by the Defenders.
- Facility Capture: The entire facility is captured immediately when the final point is secured.
- Flexible Points: The number and sequence of control points can vary for future implementations.
Battle Flow – Phased Combat
-
Start at the Excavation Site:
The battle kicks off as Attackers secure the first point, using open terrain and vehicles to their advantage. This area provides a foothold for the attackers to progress.
-
Advance to the Plant:
The second phase moves into an intricate facility, with multiple pathways, cover options, and chokepoints. This phase is where coordination and teamplay come into full effect.
-
Climactic Fight in the Engine Room:
The final showdown takes place in a heavily fortified zone. The battle becomes a test of strategy and determination as the attackers push to secure the final point.
Ticket Management
-
Ticket Consumption:
- Each time an attacker spawns (including respawning, spawning at sunderers, squad spawn beacons, or Steel Rain), 1 ticket is consumed.
- Medics' revives do not consume tickets.
-
Ticket Pool:
- Attackers begin with a set ticket pool, which can be depleted or replenished based on gameplay.
- Tickets are replenished when capturing control points or completing secondary objectives
-
Ticket Depletion:
- Defenders deplete the attacker’s ticket pool by holding control points at regular intervals.
